Having pleaded no contest to drink driving, ‘24′ star Kiefer Sutherland is now facing 48 days in jail as part of his sentencing deal.
The show’s star agreed to serve 30 days for driving with a blood-alcohol level above the legal limit of .08 percent, as well as 18 days for violating his probation for a 2004 drunken driving case, according to court records.

Prosecutors have recommended that he serve 30 days for last month’s offence and another 18 days for violating his probation in the 2004 case.
As part of the arrangement, Sutherland must also enroll in an 18-month alcohol-education class and attend weekly alcohol-therapy sessions for six months.

“I’m very disappointed in myself for the poor judgment I exhibited recently, and I’m deeply sorry for the disappointment and distress this has caused my family, friends and co-workers on ‘24’ and at 20th Century Fox,” Sutherland said in a statement.

George Clooney injured in motorcycle crash

George Clooney suffered a broken rib and some scrapes on Friday when the motorcycle he and his girl friend Sarah Larson were riding collided with a car as the actor tried to pass the other vehicle, authorities said.

Larson suffered a broken foot. Both she and Clooney were wearing helmets.
They were treated in hospital and later released, Clooney’s spokesman Stan Rosenfield said.

Clooney, 46, is in the New York area to film Burn After Reading, co-starring Brad Pitt, John Malkovich and Frances McDormand. Clooney’s latest film, “Michael Clayton,” will be released in october.

Colin Farrell’s personal dresser on the “Miami Vice” set has settled a lawsuit against the movie’s production company two years after she fractured her jaw during filming.

Joulles Wright’s attorney, Charles Lipcon, and the defendants’ attorney, Bob McIntosh, confirmed Thursday that the lawsuit has been settled, but terms were not disclosed.

Wright, of Atlanta, was riding on a speedboat when an improperly secured bumper broke off and struck her in the face, according to the lawsuit filed in June 2006 in Miami-Dade County.

Wright, who had been hired as Farrell’s dresser during the filming of the movie in Miami, allegedly needed surgery and had to have her jaw wired after the August 2005 incident.

The lawsuit claimed the speedboat was unsafe and the defendants did not give Wright adequate medical care, which aggravated her injuries and caused additional pain, mental anguish and lost wages.

The defendants involved in the settlement were MV Film Productions L.L.C. and Entertainment Partners Inc., McIntosh said.

“Miami Vice,” starring Farrell and Academy-Award winner Jamie Foxx, is an update of the TV police series that helped define ’80s pop culture.
